Tight Integration between Documentum and Endeca

The Documentum Adapter allows Endeca to index documents stored within secure Documentum repositories. It functions as an Endeca pipeline component, allowing you to add Documentum content to any Endeca-driven application.

Guided Navigation

The Adapter maps Documentum attributes to Endeca dimensions so that users can refine searches based on the rich metadata stored within Documentum. By mapping Documentum metadata to Endeca dimensions, the Adapter brings the power of Guided Navigation to your most important corporate information.

Configurable Crawling

Since you may not want to index every document in your Documentum repository, the Documentum Adapter for Endeca has several options for fine-tuning which areas of Documentum will be "crawled" by the Adapter.

An administrator can restrict the crawler to certain folders, Documentum object types, and file formats. The Adapter can index all versions of a document, or only the current version. You can even specify your own DQL query that identifies exactly what you want to index.

Security Synchronization

The Adapter integrates Documentum's security model with Endeca's, so that when a user issues a search in Endeca, the results only show documents that are accessible to him.

Incremental Index

The Adapter will only index documents that have been added or updated since the previous index. This dramatically reduces the amount of time it takes to crawl the Documentum repository.
